A countrywide consultation, which resulted into the Development of the Sierra Leone National Agribusiness Policy and Strategy. The policy and strategy document captures a framework of the theory of change on how the agribusiness strategic policy logically aligns with and contributes to achieving the Sierra Leone’s middle-income status. The strategic policy objectives and pillars include: (i) Promoting access to land, market, quality agricultural inputs, appropriate technologies, and practices, and enhanced infrastructural development; (ii) Promoting inclusive access to finance; (iii) Enhancing institutional, legal and regulatory enabling environment; (iv) Promoting institutional, human and research capacities of actors in the sector; and (v) Promoting gender mainstreaming (including women and youth) in agriculture and agribusiness.
