No CommentsDr Baimba Abdulai Koroma is the Executive/Managing Director of Management for Sustainable Development (MSD) Consulting Services Limited in Sierra Leone since its establishment in 2012. He has over 20 years of consistent experience in university teaching and development work across diverse fields. He is a qualified, skilled, and experienced expert in development economics, project planning/design and management, applied research and monitoring and impact evaluation, private-sector development (entrepreneurship, SMEs, and agribusiness and smallholder commercialisation), policy and strategy formulation, and capacity assessments and building. He is vast in the areas of poverty and inequality, economic growth and analyses of sectoral compositions of economies (agricultural, services, and industry production and productivity growth), structural transformation, institutional development, governance and accountability, livelihoods and social protection, food and nutrition security, foreign aid, inclusive education and learning, WASH, health (sexual and reproductive health), gender and youth empowerment and mainstreaming in development, and resilience to vulnerability and climate change impacts including climate-smart agriculture practices.
He has extensive experience of working on donor funded intervention assignments (e.g. the World Bank, USAID, EU, DFID/FCDO, Islamic Development Bank, BADEA, African Development Bank, GIZ, Irish Aid, and United Nations Agencies such as UNDP, FAO, UNICEF, WFP, WHO, UNAIDS, IFAD, etc.) through NGOs (international, local & CSOs) and the public sector (local councils, and Ministries and allied Departments/Agencies) in Sierra Leone. Some of the international NGOs include CRS, Plan International, Save the Children, CARE International, World Vision, Marie Stopes International, ChildFund, Oxfam, Welthungerhilfe, ActionAid International, CAFOD International, COOPI, IRC, Handicap International, etc.
He is highly experienced and skilled in planning and facilitation of workshops, training, presentations and lectures delivered to individuals/institutions from diverse fields and sectors with exceptional skills in creating partnerships, stakeholder engagement, report writing, and communication and information dissemination in academic and non-academic settings. He has successfully led coordination of the design and implementation of development projects, and many consultancies on capacity assessments and building, policy and strategy formulation, business/entrepreneurship development, monitoring and impact evaluation, and applied quantitative, qualitative and mixed research methods assignments including experimental, quasi-experimental, and non-experimental designs across diverse socioeconomic and sustainable development fields and sectors. While a consultant, Dr. Baimba Koroma is a lecturer at the Njala University, Sierra Leone, serving the Department of Economics, and the Institute of Social Studies, Administration & Management (ISSAM) in the School of Social Sciences and Law. He is highly skilled in the use of various statistical software (STATA, SPSS & R), MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access), online platforms (Teams, Zoom, internet, Kobo toolbox, & SurveyCTO), and knowledgeable in using NVivo and QGIS software.

His MBA in Project Management is well grounded in project design/planning and management, strategic management, business and entrepreneurship development, quantitative and statistical analyses, and analyses of micro and macro economics. Dr. Prince Tongor Mabey is the Director of Operations at Management for Sustainable Development (MSD) Consulting Services Limited. He is a Sierra Leonean environmental scientist, university lecturer, and development consultant specializing in environmental management, environmental health, water quality, sustainable development, climate change resilience, and disaster risk reduction.
While a consultant, who have effectively contributed to the planning, development, and execution of diverse sector and field related assignments, he lectures at Njala University in the Institute of Environmental Management and Quality Control, School of Environmental Sciences and Department of Health Education and Behavioural Science, School of Education, Njala University. His research interests include environmental management, water sanitation and public health, sustainable development in rural and coastal communities, and environmental education. He has delivered extensive training on climate resilience, environmental safeguards, and climate-smart agriculture to government agencies, NGOs, and farming communities.
With over ten years of professional experience, he has led and supported donor-funded projects with organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), African Development Bank (ADB), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Irish Aid, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UNAIDS, and World Food Programme (WFP). He has also served as an emergency preparedness and response expert on national education projects in Sierra Leone. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) Environmental Science, M.Sc in Environmental Sciences, Master of Health Education (MHE) (Environmental Health Safety Management Option), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Njala University, and a PhD in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development from Beijing Normal University, China. -
Dr. Philip Jimia Kamanda

Dr. Philip Jimia Kamanda is a Senior Consulting Associate at the Management for Sustainable Development (MSD) Consulting Services Limited. He has on many occasions contributed effectively to the planning, development, and execution of multiple agriculture and food security consultancies undertaken. He is a trained and qualified Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociologist with more than fifteen years of experience in development projects. He has worked on a series of donor funded interventions as a consultant. These interventions were funded by the World Bank, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), USAID, IFAD, and international NGOs.
In addition to his work as a consultant, Dr. Philip Kamanda is a Senior Lecturer at the Njala University, Sierra Leone. He currently serves two departments, namely, the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences, and the Department of Sociology and Social Work in the School of Social Sciences and Law. He lectures various Agricultural Extension and Sociology courses across these departments and schools. He has published several articles and completed numerous research projects in these fields. His PhD Thesis focused on Extension Training Model for Improving Capacity of Smallholder Farmers and Agricultural Extension Agents in Rice Post-harvest Value Addition, while his MPhil thesis mainly focused on the Adoption of Production and Post-Harvest Technologies of New Rice for Africa (NERICA) Varieties. -

Dr. Kumba Yannah Karim Koroma is a Senior Consulting Associate at the Management for Sustainable Development (MSD) Consulting Services Limited, who has on many occasions been engaged in the execution of multiple agriculture and food security related consultancies undertaken by the firm. She is a qualified and dedicated Agriculturist with over 12 years of experience in genetics and plant breeding (including the use of genomics tools for breeding resistance), Biotechnology and Agronomy across institutions in Sierra Leone including the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) and Njala University. She has worked as a consultant on a series of donor funded interventions including the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), USAID, IFAD, and other international NGOs.
She has extensive knowledge, practical experience and skills working with farmers including the techniques of the operations and management of a farmer field school, as well as in the use of tools/equipment for rice production, and in planning and implementing strategies for enhancing farmer adoption of the practices of modern rice production and harvesting. She has worked as plant breeder especially focusing on rice in Sierra Leone at the Sierra Leone Agriculture Research Istitute (SLARI). She has been engaged in collaborating with farmers and agricultural institutions, in creating disease-resistant varieties to manage and prevalent pests and diseases, and through field trials and evaluations creating high-yield varieties. Her engagement cuts across providing capacity building and extension services to farmers on modern technologies and best practices for planting and managing improved rice varieties, addressing challenges for farmers related to access to resources/inputs, quality seed production, and adaptation to local conditions and climate change.

Dr. Mohamed Blango is a Senior Consulting Associate at the Management for Sustainable Development (MSD) Consulting Services Limited. He has effectively engaged in the planning, development, and execution of multiple agriculture and food security related consultancies. He is a trained and qualified Agricultural Soil and Water Engineer with more than Twenty years of experience in development work and university lecturing. He has worked on a series of government and donor funded interventions as a consultant including those funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), FAO, IAEA, National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS).
As a well experienced consultant, Dr. Blango is currently the Acting Dean of the School of Technology, attached as Senior Lecturer to the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the Njala University. He teaches several courses at the University including Irrigation & Drainage, Land Development, Hydrology, Land Surveying, etc. He has published several articles and reviewed academic papers in renowned journals in areas including Supplementary Irrigation, Rainwater Harvesting and Agricultural Water management. Additionally, he has attended and delivered multiple training sessions and workshops.

Mr. Jesse Yamba is a qualified and dedicated ICT Expert with about 13 years of experience in consultancies and lecturing in the ICT sector and field. He has extensive knowledge, practical experience and skills working in creating innovative ICT solutions and best practices that cut across sectors in providing capacity building services to individuals and institutions.
In addition to being a consultant, he worked as a Webmaster (2018 – 2015) at The University of Sierra Leone, where he designed and developed the university website and managed/maintained it.
